3D and 4D ultrasound in St. Petersburg, FL

St. Petersburg General Hospital offers, as part of our diagnostic imaging services in St. Petersburg, Florida, expectant parents both 3D and 4D ultrasounds between 24 weeks and 32 weeks of pregnancy. You will be able to see your baby’s movement, listen to his or her heart, confirm the gender and see your baby’s features with more detail. Often, expectant parents schedule an ultrasound at 26 weeks to be able to see as much as they can of their soon-to-be new member of the family. With 3D and 4D ultrasounds, you will be able to see your baby in a way you never thought possible and capture once in a lifetime moments.

The 4-D ultrasound shows more facial detail than the traditional 2-D ultrasound.

What are 3D and 4D ultrasounds?

3D and 4D ultrasound are ways of viewing a developing baby in the womb. Ultrasound is a noninvasive test that creates images with sound waves. 3D ultrasound only takes outer images and 4D ultrasound adds the element of motion. Such images provide information about fetal health and development while providing parents and loved ones with a first glimpse of their new family member.
