The Transitional Year program at St. Petersburg General Hospital is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). We provide the initial opportunity for osteopathic medical school graduates to become involved in medical education training, emphasizing the osteopathic concept of total health care. During this year, interns shall complete an educational program involving extensive participation in patient care, characterized by an extensive range of inpatient and outpatient clinical experiences in the management of patients with a broad spectrum of health issues.

  • Completed application - Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
  • Personal Statement
  • Dean’s Letter
  • Current list of COMLEX 1 Score of 477 or greater and COMLEX 2 Score of 493 or greater
  • USMLE Step 1 Score of 216 or greater and USMLE Step 2 Score of 231 or greater
  • Personal Statement
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Transcript of grades and class rank
