St. Petersburg General Hospital announces the appointment of Paulina Tam, MBA, as Chief Operating Officer. Ms. Tam comes to St. Petersburg General Hospital from Tampa Community Hospital where she was Vice President of Operations. Previously, Ms. Tam served as Director of Performance Improvement for Surgical Services at HCA West Florida Division. Prior to that, Ms. Tam served as a Senior Management Engineer as well as a Management Engineer in HCA's South Atlantic Division with focus on Case Management. Ms. Tam held a variety of different managerial positions in her career as well as that of Administrative Fellow at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
Ms. Tam received her MBA with specialization in healthcare administration from Baylor University's Hankamer School of Business in Waco, Texas, where she graduated with honors distinction. She also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, Lean Six Sigma and Six Sigma Green Belt Master Certificates from Villanova University.
