St Petersburg, FL – Janice Balzano was recently named as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) by the board of St. Petersburg General Hospital.  She brings to her new role more than 30 years’ experience in healthcare leadership.  She replaces retired CEO, Robert B. Conroy, Jr.

HCA West Florida President, Peter Marmerstein presented Ms. Balzano as his selection for the post to the board.  “Janice’s past experience includes success in strategy and finance as well as creating a safe and comfortable environment for patient care.  With her background, knowledge and expertise, she is uniquely suited to lead St. Petersburg General Hospital.”

Ms. Balzano was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for HCA West Florida’s Brandon Regional Hospital for the past two and a half years. Prior to joining Brandon Regional, Ms. Balzano was the COO at West Hills Hospital, an HCA affiliate in Los Angeles, California. 

Prior to HCA, Ms. Balzano served at several affiliated hospitals with Sutter Health, a large non-profit hospital system in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. There she served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) /Asst. Administrator Strategy & Business Development. Prior to Sutter Health, Ms. Balzano worked for a large (50+) physician multi-specialty Medical Group in Northern California as the Asst. Administrator for Finance.

Ms. Balzano holds a BS Degree in Accounting/Finance and an MBA in Healthcare Administration.  She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
