Physician Makes Rounds in the Fight Against Colon Cancer

Local Physician Makes Rounds At Pinellas Hospitals In The Fight Against Colon Cancer During Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

This year approximately 140,000 people will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer. 56,000 people will die from the disease. The thing is, it is a highly preventable and treatable condition. If caught early enough, an estimated 40,000 or more lives could be saved through screening and early treatment.

And the Pinellas County physician who offers some of the most comprehensive surgical care when it comes to this disease is H. Drexel Dobson, III, M.D., General Surgeon at Northside Hospital, Edward White Hospital and St. Petersburg General Hospital. Dr. Dobson will not only inform your viewers and/or readers about the signs and symptoms of the disease, but he will explain the screening process as well as the surgical procedures for colon and rectal operations including the latest in advanced laparoscopic procedures.

You can meet and interview Dr. Dobson during any of the upcoming local community seminars at our hospitals this month or call for a personal interview. The seminars are scheduled as follows:
