The Center for Wound Care at St Petersburg General Hospital has been serving patients in our community for over twenty years. We have developed a reputation for providing excellent care by agressively treating chronic, non-healing wounds.
We Specialize in Advanced Wound Care
The Center for Wound Care at St Petersburg General Hospital has kept pace with evolving technology, offering cutting edge treatments and evidence based protocols to ensure patients' wounds heal quickly. We use a variety of clinical treatments, debridement, wound dressings, growth factors, bio-engineered skin grafting, edema management and compression therapy, non-invasive vascular assessments and support services.
Patient care at the center focuses on the whole body approach to wound healing including nutritional educational, diabetic education, patient and care-giver counseling and coordination of medical supplies and services. Any patient with a wound that has not healed in two weeks is a candidate for the Center for Wound Care at St Petersburg General Hospital.

The patient remains with their primary care physician who maintains the care of the patient's underlying disease and continues to provide for the patient's overall care. The Center for Wound Care treats only the wound. The patient meets with the staff for a consultation, including an examination and medical history evaluation. Information regarding the patient's progress, along with updated photos of the wound will be submitted to the primary care physician on an ongoing basis.

Our registrars will place you with the appropriate doctor according to your specific wound needs. They will also help you obtain authorization from your Primary Care Physician or insurance company if necessary.
