Oncology Nurse Navigator:

Nurse Navigators assist patients to make sense of complicated hospital systems to improve both their patient experience as well as their health outcome. Our navigator is an oncology certified RN that works specifically with cancer patients to assist them with absorbing and understanding their diagnosis, explain diagnostic procedures, treatment plans and related procedures. The Nurse Navigator serves as a resource from the initial point of contact across the cancer continuum through survivorship or end of life. Unofficial titles include advocate, educator, care coordinator, liaison, and support person. They work to remove any barriers that prevent timely care in order to improve the cancer experience and assist in achieving the best possible outcome. They work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team utilizing any and all resources needed to achieve this goal.
